After helping to power the St. Louis Cardinals to the NL Central title, Matt Holliday was courted by the Cardinals in a bid to keep him in St. Louis.  Through various reports, it appeared nobody else but the Cards were seriously going after Holliday, and ultimately they landed their major prize and 4 hole hitter, swinging behind the best player in baseball history, Albert Pujols.  The outfield has been shored up longterm, with Colby Rasmus, Matt Holliday, and Ryan Ludwick as the starters I project with Rick Ankiel coming off the bench.  This is a great move by the Redbirds [...]
